If you plan on going to see the new Martin Scorsese film when it lands in cinemas, then be sure to take a trip to the loo before you take your seat, because you’re going to be there for quite a while.

Killers Of The Flower Moon, which stars big hitters Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month and will land in UK cinemas in October. It will be the first time that Scorsese has presented a film at Cannes since After Hours, all the way back in 1986.

Following previous reports that the film was set to be approximately three hours and 20 minutes long, Variety now reports that it will have a running-time of “nearly four hours”. So, you are going to get plenty of snacks when you head to the cinema.

For reference, James Cameron’s epic Avatar: The Way of Water, clocked in at three hours and 12 minutes.

Based on the best-selling non-fiction book of the same name by David Grann, the narrative of Killers Of The Flower Moon focuses on a series of Oklahoma murders in the Osage Nation during the 1920s, and the investigation into the crimes by the recently formed FBI.

Along with DiCaprio and De Niro, the star-studded cast includes The Whale’s Brendan Fraser, Jesse Plemons, Lily Gladstone, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, and John Lithgow.

Scorsese, who releases a new documentary about New York Dolls frontman David Johansen soon, recently listed his favourite films of all time. Find out what made the cut here.

Killers Of The Flower Moon is set to be released in UK cinemas on 20th October 2023.
