Sharon Horgan has given an exciting update on the highly anticipated Bad Sisters season two and what to expect when it returns to Apple TV+.

Ever since the first season premiered on the streaming platform last year, fans have been eagerly waiting to hear when the next instalment would be out.

Creator Sharon Horgan has now revealed filming will begin soon.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Horgan, who also stars in the show, revealed a date had been confirmed for production to begin but she wanted to keep details about season two very much under wraps.

However, she did say: “Well, we don’t start filming until September but I can tell you that [in the new season] there’s stuff that kind of comes back to bite [the sisters] quite heavily."

When asked what viewers can expect from the new season, Horgan teased: It’s just more sisters going nuts, doing things badly, getting it wrong but really loving each other through it all. I don’t want to tell you the plot because it’s still percolating."

in the first season of the dark comedy, we were introduced to the Garvey sisters, who were entwined in a conspiracy to get rid of their awful and abusive brother-in-law John Paul, with Horgan, Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene and Eve Hewson starring as the siblings and Claes Bang as John Paul.

We also caught up with Horgan on the red carpet of the RTS Awards 2023, last month and she confirmed writing for season two was well underway.

She explained: “I'm just writing it at the moment and it's really fun. We're trying to keep what was good about the first one, or what people liked about the first one, which is lots of the sisters doing slightly criminal things quite badly.”

The Bad Sisters star also revealed what it was like to work alongside heartthrob and The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal, which you can read about here.

Bad Sisters season one is currently streaming on Apple TV+.
