A new series of award-winning genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are? is coming, and it will feature a host of stars from shows such as The Crown and Strictly Come Dancing, along with legends like Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Bear Grylls.

The 20th series will air on BBC One next month, and will follow a new bunch of celebrities on personal journeys as they delve into their unknown family ancestries and unearth facts about their heritage.

The Crown’s Claire Foy and Lesley Manville are both set to dive back into their family histories, as are Strictly’s Kevin Clifton and comedian and Taskmaster star Chris Ramsey.

The Inbetweeners and I’m a Celebrity’s Emily Atack will learn that herself, Ryan Reynolds and a certain football club have a whole load more in common than she might have guessed.

Theatre icon Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber will unearth parallels between his life and the those of his ancestors.

Adventurer Bear Grylls, radio presenter Dev Griffin, and twin doctors Chris & Xand van Tulleken make up the other celebrities in the new series.

The upcoming series, which will air on BBC One from early June, will see the celebs make discoveries which include murder trials, tragic accidents, clog-wearing rope dancers and Scottish royalty.

The stars’ journeys are set to take them all over the UK, as well as to Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada, Jamaica and even as far as Australia.

Simon Young, BBC Head of History, said in a statement: “As one of Britain’s most beloved documentary series returns for series 20, the line-up of household names, and the array of astonishing family histories, grow from strength to strength. This series is often imitated but never bettered, and this latest edition demonstrates why.”
