Bruce Willis’ wife, Emma, has opened up about how their nine-year-old daughter Evelyn is trying to help her dad with his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis.

The actor’s diagnosis was confirmed in February after they had announced his initial aphasia diagnosis.

Since then, we have been given lots of updates on Willis’ health and the most recent comes from Emma who told her Instagram follows about Evelyn’s gesture to her father.

Taking to social media, Emma admitted she was a “puddle” when her daughter first told her about what she was doing during her free time at school.

She explained: “So I have to tell you this story, and I’m going to try and do it without crying because when Evelyn told me this story, I was an absolute puddle.”

Emma added that Evelyn had started looking up ‘fun facts about dementia’ when she had a spare moment in school and discovered that people suffering from the condition can “become severely dehydrated”.

So, concerned about her father’s health, she told her mother.

Emma continued: “Now, that’s not funny, but it’s kind of funny. She really is her father’s child because these two love some random facts.

“So I said to her, ‘Evelyn, we will always make sure daddy has a bottle of water in hand. Thank you for letting me know. But that is the most loving and compassionate thing that you can do is to be curious and educate yourself on your dad’s disease’.”

Willis has, of course, now retired from acting but starred in his last ever film Assassin in March this year, where he plays the leader of a private military operation working to take down the creator of a deadly weapon.
