The iconic Spanish villa has received a makeover ahead of the show’s 10th season.

ITV’s popular dating show Love Island is back for the second time this year. Just a few months ago during series nine, contestants were looking for love in Cape Town, South Africa.

But the singletons hopeful for romance this summer will be staying at the Sa Vinyassa villa in Majorca, Spain, which is the same location they used in summer 2022.

Speaking to the PA news agency, Love Island’s creative director Mike Spencer explained their aims for the villa. He said: “It’s trying to give these guys and girls the summer of their lives in the most aspirational, inspirational way that is somewhere you want to go with your mates.”

Upon arrival, the islanders stride along a wooden walkway through a giant chrome heart. As always, the villa is decorated with neon signs stating popular quotes from the show, such as “eat, sleep, crack on, repeat”, and “spill the tea”.

The garden has been refreshed with vibrant-coloured bean bags and sun loungers.

Islanders will still have access to the rooftop terrace, firepit, 6m infinity pool, outdoor gym, and kitchen.

They also have more space to chat with one another thanks to the addition of two extra outdoor daybeds.

The contestants will stay in the communal bedroom, in which the beds face each other and the walls are decorated with alluring paintings of women sunbathing and relaxing in a pool.

The Hideaway, a private room where couples can spend the night together, has also been given a makeover.

In 2022, the room was pink and yellow, but this year, it has a purple and pink colour scheme. The bed is covered in lavish cushions and a cosy yellow duvet. On either side of the room, there are golden plants, and the neon sign above the bed says “hello sexy”.

Love Island has collaborated with eBay again as the series sponsor to fight against fast fashion and provide the contestants with pre-loved clothing.

New for this year is the dressing room’s re-list drawer, where the stars can return items of clothing so they can be sold on the site.

ITV has also collaborated with breast cancer awareness charity, CoppaFeel, to provide the contestants with a daily reminder to check their bodies for lumps.

One of the mirrors has a sticker that says “check your chest” in the swirly Love Island font, next to drawings of some boobs and pecks.

This comes after three former islanders were encouraged by fans to visit their doctors after being on the show.

Viewers urged Demi Jones from series six to get the lump in her throat checked, which turned out to be cancerous and had to be removed.

Molly-Mae was also spurred to see a doctor about a large mole that fans noticed on her leg during her time on the show in 2019.

One of the girls staying at the villa this year will be Molly Marsh, a musical theatre performer and social media content creator from Doncaster. The 21-year-old is the daughter of Coronation Street actress, Janet Marsh.

The six-bedroom, seven-bathroom holiday home is available to book when Love Island has ceased filming. Although, there is currently no availability in the near future.

Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm on Monday 5th June, 2023.
