Victoria Beckham makes joke as David slips during Lionel Messi presentation

David Beckham made a glittering career out of being good with his feet, but he wasn’t quite so sure-footed at a presentation to welcome Lionel Messi to his team this week.

The former England captain was at Inter Miami's DRV PNK Stadium in Florida on Monday, as his club unveiled one of the world’s greatest ever players. 

During a presentation to mark the momentous signing of the World Cup-winning Argentinian forward, Lionel Messi, to the side, president and co-owner Beckham slipped in the rainy conditions. 

His popstar wife, Victoria, has since taken to social media to make a joke about it. 

As a short video went viral, showing the ex-Manchester United player slipping - but avoiding falling over - as he made his way towards Messi in front of 20,000 fans, the Spice Girls icon and fashion designer shared it on her Instagram stories.

She captioned the clip: "He’s not a natural on the catwalk."

The ceremony - which saw the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner given a number 10 shirt - was delayed after the area experienced torrential rain and thunderstorms.

Messi has joined the Major League Soccer (MLS) club on a deal until the end of 2025.

Victoria and David Beckham recently marked 24 years of marriage, and expressed their love for each other on Instagram by sharing a selection of retro throwbacks and an old video of their wedding.

Meanwhile, Victoria is reportedly up for reuniting with the other four Spice Girls for their 30th anniversary next year.

Rumours are rife that the iconic group will be finally teaming up as a five-piece, after Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton embarked on a reunion tour in 2019, minus Victoria.

The last time all five members took to the stage together was at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012.
