Iconic TV series Deal Or No Deal is coming back to our screens, and new host Stephen Mulhern has given an update regarding when we can see it.

Stephen takes the place of Noel Edmonds, who was in charge of proceedings during the show’s first run between 2005 and 2016. With a brand-new setting, new boxes and new contestants hoping to get the better of a brand new Banker, fans are excited about the show’s return, which will be on ITV.

Indeed, one person took to social media to ask the new host directly. They wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “When does #DealOrNoDeal start? ☎️ #Banker | @StephenMulhern | #Deal”

The new host replied that, while he didn’t have an exact date at this stage, viewers won’t have too long to wait until the boxes start opening again. In fact, he revealed it will be on air in 2023.

“Hello!” he replied. “As soon as I get the exact date I will let you all know matey. It’s definitely coming out this year! I cannot wait.”

When he joined The Chris Evans Breakfast Show with cinch earlier this year, Stephen revealed that the former Deal or No Deal host had given his support: “[Noel] did it for 10 years, and he's been really incredibly supportive,” he told Chris. “He sent out a comment… he said there's nobody better, in his view, to host it, which was like, wow! To hear that from him, because he didn't need to say that.”

The new host, who has been known to pop in to cover on Virgin Radio, continued: “Having watched him do it when people lose a massive amount of money, the way he gets out of stuff, and always softens the blow even though somebody's lost such a massive amount. He's a master of it and even when you go back to Noel’s House Party, in terms of a Saturday night TV show, it was phenomenal so he was the master.”
