You talkin’ to him? Iconic actor Robert De Niro is due to star in a new Uber ad campaign as his infamous New York cabbie character, Travis Bickle.

First appearing in Martin Scorsese’s 1976 classic, Taxi Driver, the star is set to become the face of a series of Uber adverts being filmed in London.

The Oscar-winning actor, 80, will be saying his immortal line “You talkin’ to me?”, following on from appearing in commercials over the years for Warburton’s bread, Kia Niro car, Santander bank and American Express.

A source said about De Niro's new job: “It’s a great idea — Taxi Driver is one of the most iconic films of all time. But he’ll certainly get some stick for it too.

“A lot of people feel like some of these classic films are his best work, and signing up to commercials is selling out a bit, but obviously he’s had a very expensive personal life."

The actor has just become a dad again for the seventh time in April earlier this year.

The insider continued: “He’s going to be Travis Bickle, saying some phrases and playing up to it.

"His previous adverts have shown he has no problem poking fun at himself.”

The mega brand have plans to include famous passengers as cameos in the upcoming adverts.

De Niro told British GQ in 2019 about starring in Warburton's bread ad: "Look, they asked me to do it and I met the guy, Warburton, and I thought it was funny.

"I saw Stallone do it and I thought at least he has a sense of humour about it and about himself."
