The next massive name for Dancing on Ice 2024 has just been revealed.

Former Strictly Come Dancing star and Olympic athlete Greg Rutherford was announced as the fifth star heading to the ice while on Good Morning Britain today (Monday 2nd October).

Greg is a retired track and field athlete who specialised in the long jump. He’s represented Great Britain at the Olympics and World Champions, and for England at the Commonwealth Games. He bagged a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics, and a bronze in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

The sporting star is no stranger to a telly competition either, having taken part in Strictly back in 2016. He also won the series 14 of Celebrity MasterChef in 2019.

Speaking on GMB, Greg shared his excitement about the upcoming skating challenge, explaining: “I think this is going to be a really different experience but one that will be quite exciting. I like a challenge and I needed a reason to go out and do stuff again and here we are.

“I want to perform something that’s never been done before, that’s my aim. I’ll go 100,000% on this. I’ll try hard, I’m in no way expecting to be good but I will work as hard as I can.”

Greg’s announcement comes just a few days after West End star and former Love Islander Amber Davies was announced as the fourth celeb hitting the ice.

Shows which Amber has starred in include Back to the Future, Bring It On The Musical (which was written by Broadway legend Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt) and Annie Get Your Gun, in which she was the lead for its 75th UK Anniversary Concert.

News of Amber’s taking to the ice was broken on Lorraine on Friday (29th September).

Speaking about her upcoming appearance on the popular reality TV show, Amber said: “I would definitely say that I'm an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don't want the adrenaline to get the better of me.”

She also warned: “I can count on one hand how many times I've ice skated.”

Amber is the fourth celebrity to be announced, joining the previously announced World Champion Boxer Ricky Hatton MBE, actress Claire Sweeney and S Club singer Hannah Spearritt.

Dancing on Ice returns to ITV and ITVX in 2024.
