BBC reveal star-studded cast for The Kemps: All Gold mockumentary

Spandau Ballet’s Gary and Martin Kemp are returning to TV for another hilarious mockumentary this Christmas.

Following up from their 2020 hit show The Kemps: All True, the pair will be joined by an all-star cast in its one hour sequel, The Kemps: All Gold.

Once again shot with award-winning documentary filmmaker Rhys Thomas OBE at its helm, The Kemps: All Gold will see the brothers joined by famous faces including Christopher Eccleston, Danny John Jules and Tamzin Outhwaite.

“Seasoned talent and fresh faces join the Kemp brothers as Rhys follows the pair over a whole year as they make a biopic, get divorced and form a super group,” teases the show’s synopsis. “Naturally, not everything goes to plan!” it then jokes.

Foyle’s War’s Michael Kitchen will return to play Gary and Martin’s long suffering manager, meanwhile Benidorm’s Perry Benson will return as their brother Ross Kemp (not that one!).

Other stars who will feature in the show include director Dexter Fletcher, Citizen Khan’s Adil Ray, Am I Being Unreasonable’s Lenny Rush, James Bond composer David Arnold, and Disenchantment’s Lucy Montgomery.

“If you thought The Kemps: All True made you laugh… that was nothing, wait till you see this one. It’s brilliant, bonkers, and so funny. It’s definitely a don’t miss over Christmas,” Martin Kemp said about the show.

Gary added: “It's fantastic to reunite with Rhys and be joined by our incredible cast for The Kemps: All Gold. We're taking our adventures to a whole new level of dysfunction this time, and we can't wait to share the laughter and mayhem with our fans.”

The BBC’s director of comedy Jon Petrie said: “A huge thanks to Gary and Martin Kemp for managing to keep a straight face throughout the filming of this show.  They’ve delivered us a hilarious little Christmas treat, with help from Rhys Thomas’ unique comedy brain.”

The Kemps: All Gold will air on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer this Christmas.
