Who will ITV choose to step in next to guest host This Morning following on from Holly Willoughby's departure? Presenter Alison Hammond is taking a temporary break from the show to appear in pantomime and a trio of famous faces will be fronting the daytime programme this week.

Stars who have already taken over the ITV reins include Dermot O’Leary, Emma Willis, Rylan Clark, Josie Gibson, Cat Deeley, Craig Doyle and Rochelle Humes — and there's three more incoming: The One Show's Christine Lampard, The Saturdays singer Mollie King and presenter Lisa Snowdon.

A source told The Mirror: "There is a wealth of talent available and no shortage of takers, given it is one of the most sought-after spots in television."

Christine appeared alongside Dermot today (11 December) while Mollie will be co-hosting on Tuesday and Wednesday (12 and 13 December), while Lisa will appear on Thursday and Friday (14 and 15 December).

The TV insider added: "It gives us a great opportunity to mix things up and see what lands well and resonates with the viewers."

The sought-after job is currently still up for grabs following on from Holly Willoughby's departure after an alleged kidnap plot.

She said in a statement in October: "I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.

"To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.

"This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we've done together.

"Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.

"Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You've been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day.

"Richard and Judy said 'We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers'."

Holly added: "It's been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family.

"I will miss you all so much. Holly."
