ITV have revealed just how close I’m A Celebrity 2023’s vote for King of the Jungle was.

Taking to social media the morning after Sunday’s dramatic final in which TV personality Sam Thompson was crowned this year’s winner, the broadcaster revealed his win was comfortable from the beginning.

The official voting percentages from the vote prior to the show announcing third place reveal 43.35% of the voting public voted for Sam to make it to the final two, meanwhile former boxer and competition latecomer Tony Bellew received 30.87% of the vote and former UKIP leader Nigel Farage, who was eliminated, received just 25.78%.

In the vote for King of the Jungle, Sam received a comfortable 56.64% of the public vote, meanwhile Tony received 43.36%, putting him in second place in the competition.

This year’s voting figures were revealed at the same time as the estimated overnight viewing figures for the final were released, revealing several million less viewers tuned in for the last episode of this year’s I’m A Celebrity than last year.

In 2022, an average of 10.1 million viewers tuned in to see Jill Scott crowned Queen of the Jungle, but this year the average was just 6.6 million.

However, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here 2023 remains a success for the broadcaster, as an ITV spokesperson explained: “I'm A Celebrity is the biggest entertainment show on any channel this year having launched with 10.9 million,” the Evening Standard reports.

"The series is currently averaging a consolidated 9 million viewers and last night's finale drew a peak overnight audience of 7.6 million (average 6.6 million),” the broadcaster’s statement continued.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here 2023 is available to watch on ITVX.
