There have been plenty of surprises in the second series of The Traitors, and the revelations are continuing even after players leave the game.

In Wednesday’s episode (17th January), Diane sipped from the poisoned chalice handed to her by Miles. This meant that she sealed her own fate as the next contestant to be murdered. The rest of the players figured out that Miles was a Traitor, and he was banished following a verbal battle with fellow Traitor Paul at the round table.

In the spin-off show, BBC Two’s The Traitors: Uncloaked, which followed the conclusion of episode 7, Diane and Miles were reunited and learned a few things about each other.

When a freshly banished Miles entered the room, Diane was surprised and upset to see that he too had left the game, until he revealed that he had in fact been recruited as a Traitor! “I never thought I’d like a Traitor,” she said.

When Miles asked if she still loved him, she said she did, but added: “What an amazing game... but you killed me then?... you wee s***!”

However, Diane had a secret of her own to confess. She told Miles: "One of the nicest things you said to me was, 'Your children would be proud of you.”

She went on: “Do you know one of them particularly is proud of me?" before telling him that fellow Faithful Ross is her son.

“No way!” Miles said, before commenting on the fact that there is a family resemblance.

Earlier in the series, Zack seemingly caught wind of the fact that Diane was related to someone in the show. But he thought that baddie Paul was her son. Ross remains in the game and none of the players are aware that his mother was also in the game until last night.

It turns out that Diane is the mum of a Game of Thrones star as well.

Read our exclusive interview with Diane, in which she revealed how she and Ross came very close to spilling their secret.

The Traitors continues tonight, Thursday 18th January, on BBC One at 9pm. You can watch the first seven episodes on BBC iPlayer now
