Beloved weather presenter Carol Kirkwood has delivered a weather report with a difference, with the help of a very recognisable “new trainee”.

In the clip, which has been shared on social media, BBC star Carol begins to forecast the weather, before throwing to singer and actor Olly Alexander, who went on to drop some heavy hints about the title of his upcoming Eurovision entry.

The It’s a Sin star is the UK’s entry in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. Olly’s music project, Years and Years, is known for hits including Desire, King, and If You’re Over Me. The news of his Eurovision participation was announced during the final of Strictly Come Dancing in December.

In the new clip, Carol begins her weather report by speaking about how “it’s going to be cold in the north but much milder in the south”, before handing over to Olly, who says: “It appears there is a rare phenomena of dizzy spells running towards our dear island, and it looks like they’re coming all the way from Sweden.”

Sweden is the host of Eurovision 2024, after Swedish artist Loreen won the Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool with the song Tattoo.

Later in the clip, Olly says: “There isn’t an end to these dizzy spells for the foreseeable just yet, and no telling if they'll continue to go round and round or just eventually go back to the beginning."

The singer adds: “Of course, this won’t be news to some of you eagle-eyed viewers, as some of you have already warned us of the impending spells ahead.” Behind Olly appears a montage of social media clips from fans’ theories that the upcoming single will indeed be called Dizzy.

Olly has also shared four numbers on a map, 11, 7, 29 and 1, which appear to be another clue to decode.

The numbers 7 and 11 could relate to the dates in May of the semi-final and final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. And one fan suggested in the comments that the other two numbers could relate to the dates of the single and music video releases.

Eurovision 2024 is set to take place in Malmö, Sweden, from Tuesday 7th May to Saturday 11th May 2024
