Having dropped some big clues about the UK's much-anticipated Eurovision Song Contest 2024 entry, Olly Alexander has now officially unveiled the details .

The UK’s entrant into this year's competition has previously teased the new single, with the help of beloved weather presenter Carol Kirkwood, and has now once again taken to social media to advise fans of the release date and name of the song.

As many people had guessed, the Eurovision entry will be called Dizzy. The It’s a Sin star had made several mentions of the word in his recent ‘weather forecast’.

And another clue from the previous social media post with Carol also was explained. In the video, Olly shared four numbers on a map: 11, 7, 29 and 1. Whilst the numbers 7 and 11 possibly relate to the dates in May of the semi-final and final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, it seems that the number 1 refers to the date that Dizzy is being released, as Olly has now confirmed that it is out on 1st March.

The singer and actor took to Twitter to write: “DIZZY 🌀😵‍💫 my brand new single is coming march 1st !! i actually can’t wait to perform this on the eurovision stage….omg”.

Sweden is the host of Eurovision 2024, after Swedish artist Loreen won the Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool with the song Tattoo. In the teaser video, singer and actor Olly said: “It appears there is a rare phenomena of dizzy spells running towards our dear island, and it looks like they’re coming all the way from Sweden.”

We will wait to see what the number 29 in the video refers to. Watch the clip with Carol Kirkwood here.

Eurovision 2024 is set to take place in Malmö, Sweden, from Tuesday 7th May to Saturday 11th May 2024
