Get ready to find out how it all began, as a Quiet Place spin-off prequel is on its way.

The latest instalment of the incredibly tense horror franchise is called A Quiet Place: Day One, and a brand new trailer has just landed.

The film is the third in the post-apocalyptic series, following 2018’s A Quiet Place and 2020’s sequel, A Quiet Place Part II. Both of which were directed by John Krasinski (Jim from The US Office) and are set in a world inhabited by killer extraterrestrial creatures who have a cracking sense of hearing. Basically, make a noise and you’re done for.

Directed by Michael Sarnoski - who helmed the brilliant Nicolas Cage film Pig - A Quiet Place: Day One stars Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson from Stranger Things), as well as Alex Wolff from Pig and Hereditary.

As the trailer shows, the movie will take the story back to its origins, and show what happened when the aliens first arrived on earth.

The trailer opens with clips of Krasinski, Emily Blunt and Cillian Murphy’s characters from the original two films, before a timer clicks back from “Day 476” to “Day One”, and we witness the carnage that is caused when the aliens land in the middle of New York. Not the quietest place in the world!

The film also features Djimon Hounsou, who reprises his role from A Quiet Place Part II as the unnamed "Man on the Island".

In related news, Emily Blunt has spoken out about the chances of a Devil Wears Prada sequel. Read what she had to say here.

A Quiet Place: Day One is set to arrive in cinemas on 28th June, 2024.
