Olly Alexander is making us dizzy with all his Eurovision Song Contest teases today!

After teasing the name of his new single earlier today (7th February), the award-winning singer who will be representing the UK in the Malmö Sweden-based competition has now posted the first clip of his song on his social media.

“Hello ! here’s the first tease of my @eurovision song ‘Dizzy’ !! oh i’m so excited !!!! i love you !!” the artist wrote in the caption of the clip, which you can listen to in full below.

Earlier today, Olly shared the title and release date for Dizzy with his social media followers. “DIZZY, my brand new single is coming March 1st !!” he wrote. “I actually can’t wait to perform this on the Eurovision stage.. omg.”

The former Years and Years lead singer even managed to get the help of weather presenting icon Carol Kirkwood earlier this morning to tease fans with the fact that more information was on the way about his Eurovision single.

After joining Carole in a humorous video in which he helped predict some strange sounding weather, many fans correctly predicted that Olly’s Eurovision song would be called ‘Dizzy’.

Fans of the international competition are hopeful Olly’s entry for the UK could be a potential winner, reminiscent of the nation’s shock success with Sam Ryder’s hit single ‘Spaceman’ in 2022.

Reacting to Olly’s clip this afternoon, many shared that they remained confident this could be the hit song the UK needs in order to top the leaderboard later this year. “This is SOOOO @eurovision,” one person said. “And you are so flipping HOT… You’re going to win boy. Bring it home for mumma.”

“We knew it was going to be a banger,” another X (formerly Twitter) user commented. “Sounds early 2000s.”

“You look and sound totally divine Olly,” a third person wrote, meanwhile a fourth celebrated: “Awesome! Full version can’t come fast enough for me!”

Dizzy will be released on Friday, 1st March. The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place on Saturday, 11th May, and will be aired on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK.
