Dancing On Ice star Greg Rutherford has shared a video of the rehearsal performance that led to him getting injured and dropping out of the competition.
Ahead of the Dancing On Ice final last week (10th March), the Olympic athlete was forced to pull out of the competition after suffering a “really bad accident” during rehearsals.
This week, Greg posted a series of updates to his Instagram account, opening up about the severity of the accident and detailing how he had to be “sewn up.”
The accident was so bad that, according to his professional skating partner, Vanessa James, it left fellow members of the cast shaken.
Thankfully, Greg is now on the mend and has since shared a video of what his routine should have looked like, explaining where it went wrong.
The video, filmed before Greg’s accident, shows the pair performing the Bolero in full costume with the show’s cast.
Greg explained: “This is the showcase we didn’t get to perform due to injury. The point where I dive through Colin and Brendyn’s legs is where everything went wrong last Sunday. This is from either Friday or Saturday, so I was still ironing out a few timing issues (which I’m sure you will notice 🤣).”
He continued: “I utterly loved this showcase. Everyone involved had worked so hard. Just look at the set too!! The guys behind the scenes never get enough credit, what they build in such a short amount of time is mind blowing.
“To have @torvillanddeanofficial choreograph a full routine for us too was so special. I loved working with them.
“Although I won’t be able to skate for maybe a couple of months. I intend on getting back on the ice and keeping it up. I really do love it.”
