A new spy drama series is on its way, and its impressive cast features an Academy Award-nominee, along with stars from the likes of Happy Valley, Peaky Blinders and the James Bond movies.

Here’s everything you need to know about Black Doves…

What is Black Doves about? 

The official synopsis explains that the narrative follows Helen Webb, “a quick-witted, down to earth, dedicated wife and mother — and professional spy.

"For 10 years, she’s been passing on her politician husband’s secrets to the shadowy organisation she works for: the Black Doves. When her secret lover Jason is assassinated, her spymaster, the enigmatic Reed calls in Helen’s old friend to keep her safe."

The synopsis continues: "Sam Young is a suave, Champagne-drinking assassin. But having been out of the game since a failed job with disastrous consequences, he’s come home to a London that has moved on without him. As his past threatens to catch up with him, his task is to protect Helen as she investigates who killed Jason and why.

"Together, they set off on a mission that will lead them to uncover a vast, interconnected conspiracy. One that links the murky underworld of London to a looming geopolitical crisis - and leads them to question the cost of the moral choices they’ve made."

Who is in Black Doves?

Love Actually and Atonement star Keira Knightley plays Helen Webb, while Happy Valley’s Sarah Lancashire stars as Reed.

Paddington and James Bond actor Ben Whishaw will be Sam Young, and Andrew Koji frmo Peaky Blinders plays Jason.

The cast also features Andrew Buchan, Kathryn Hunter, Sam Troughton, Ella Lily Hyland, Adam Silver, Ken Nwosu and Gabrielle Creevy.

 Adeel Akhtar, Finn Bennett, Luther Ford and Tracey Ullman were announced as joining the cast in March.

How can I watch Black Doves?

Black Doves will air on Netflix.

When is Black Doves out?

At this stage, no release date for Black Doves has been confirmed.

However, we do know that it will be landing on Netflix at some point in 2024. 

Is there a trailer for Black Doves?

Kind of.
