Cat Deeley has opened up about how she “didn't know what was happening” to her when she experienced a health issue for the first time on live television.

On Monday's episode of This Morning (14th April) there was a segment about migraines, during which co-hosts Cat and Ben Shephard spoke about a new “wonder drug” for the health condition.

The symptoms of migraines can include visual distortions, and the hit ITV daytime show showed viewers a blurred image as an example of what it can be like. Cat took the opportunity to explain: “Mine goes from the outside in, actually more kind of like tunnel vision.”

Recalling the “really frightening” first time she experienced a migraine, while working on American show So You Think You Can Dance, the TV star said: "I got my first migraine on live TV.”

She elaborated: “It was actually really frightening as I didn't know what was happening to me and I'd never had one before.”

The presenter added: “But now, I get them occasionally and I can see symptoms straight away. If I act straight away with something like migraine relief, it gets rid of it!”

The NHS website describes a migraine as tending to be “a very bad headache with a throbbing pain on 1 side of the head.”

As well as problems with sight, warning signs can include a migraine can also lead to numbness or a tingling that feels like pins and needles, feeling dizzy and difficulty speaking. Other possible symptoms just before a migraine could be feeling very tired, craving certain foods or feeling thirsty, changes in mood, a stiff neck, or needing to urinate more.

Yesterday’s episode of This Morning was also notable for one particular guest… none other than Virgin Radio’s own Chris Evans!
