Paul Giamatti to reprise role in highly anticipated sequel alongside Downton regulars and new faces.

Exciting news for Downton Abbey fans as the beloved British drama is set to grace the silver screen once more, with a star-studded cast and familiar faces returning for another aristocratic adventure!

Fresh off the press from Focus Features and Carnival Films, the announcement of the third Downton Abbey movie has set hearts aflutter and teacups clinking in anticipation.

Joining the esteemed ensemble is none other than the illustrious Paul Giamatti, who will reprise his role as Cora Grantham’s affable brother Harold Levinson.

In addition to Giamatti's return, the upcoming film promises a royal roster of talent, with luminaries such as Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan gracing the grand halls of Downton.

Not to be outdone, Dominic West will also make a dazzling comeback as the dapper Guy Dexter, adding an extra dash of intrigue to the mix.

"Giamatti is reprising his role as Cora Grantham’s brother Harold Levinson," according to the release, which adds, "Dominic West will also reprise his role as Guy Dexter from Downton Abbey: A New Era."

Of course, no Downton Abbey affair would be complete without the presence of familiar faces.

Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, and Laura Carmichael are all set to reprise their roles, ensuring that the beloved characters we've grown to adore will continue to charm audiences with their wit, elegance, and occasional scandal.

Julian Fellowes, the mastermind behind the aristocratic drama, once again takes the reins as the script maestro, weaving tales of love, loss, and afternoon tea.

With Simon Curtis returning to direct, fans can expect the same impeccable attention to detail and sumptuous cinematography that made the first two films such delightful escapes into the world of Downton.

In a heartwarming video shared by the production, Michelle Dockery, aka the indomitable Lady Mary, expressed her joy at reuniting with the Downton family.

"It feels amazing. A tad emotional," she shared.

"It's wonderful all to be back together again. You come back together and it's like no time has passed at all."

Set against the backdrop of the early 20th century, the Downton Abbey saga continues to captivate audiences with its tales of upstairs-downstairs drama, love, and intrigue.

The first Downton Abbey film (2019) picks up where the series left off, in 1927, while the 2022 sequel — Downton Abbey: A New Era — takes place directly after, in 1928.

From the opulent halls of the Crawley estate to the bustling servant quarters below, each instalment promises a journey back in time to a bygone era of elegance and charm.

So, dust off your finest attire, polish your silverware, and prepare for another enchanting chapter in the timeless tale of Downton Abbey!
