If you're a fan of a knuckle-biting thriller, you'll soon be joining the legions of fans who are hoping for a second series of a new Netflix show.

Bodkin has only been out for just over a week, but since the premiere, fans have been calling for a renewal and a second series to sink their teeth into.

If you want something to get you hooked, watch the trailer below:

The series has been created by Jez Scharf and is set in the titular town of Bodkin.

For now you've got seven episodes to enjoy, but fans are already clamouring for more.

Bodkin star Saturday Night Live cast member Will Forte as American podcaster Gilbert Power.

He stars alongside Siobhán Cullen as investigative journalist Dubheasa ‘Dove’ Maloney.

The plot begins with true-crime podcaster Gilbert travelling to a small town in order to investigate some mysterious disappearances from decades ago.

He is joined by Dove, despite his wishes, and it isn't long before the pair clash over their methods.

One fan wrote: "#Bodkin was great. 2nd season please.”

Another added: “If you having a chilled Sunday at home, you could do a lot worse than watching #Bodkin on Netflix. A constantly twisting plot line, a village with secrets, fab characters and a hefty chunk of dark humour. Very enjoyable.”

This viewer said: “I binged Bodkin over the weekend! Great mystery show with some funny comedy and moving character development in between."

“Kinda watched it on a whim. And it caught my eye because of Will Forte! Glad I didn’t miss it, and would totally love a season 2.”

Others are taking holiday inspiration from the show.

This viewer said: “Binge watched BODKIN while hoping that my train wouldn’t get delayed further (just ended up not getting on it at the end) and my gods, it’s such a treat to watch it.

“Every time I feel like I know what’s gonna happen next, it goes a different way.”

The series was filmed in West Cork, Wicklow and Dublin during the summer of 2022.

We'll have to still wait and see whether the series will be renewed for a second go.

Fans have also drawn comparisons to the smash-hit series Only Murders In The Building, what with the true crime podcasters getting in over their heads.
