Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to reunite for a TV show

You could be forgiven for wondering what year it is, after it has been revealed that Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie will be back on our screens once more.

The duo were iconic together in the Noughties, with their tv show The Simple Life regularly making headlines, and fans still love watching it even today.

The show focused on the two wealthy socialites trying out "normal" living, moving in with a "middle class" American family.

They even tried out low-paid jobs, and some of the pair's most iconic lines came from the show.

Now, more than two decades on, Paris and Nicole are set to reunite on our screens.

Paris shared the news on her social media.

She shared a video with a caption that reads: "New Era. Same Besties. Coming soon to Peacock".

Under the static of the television, audio of the duo squealing can be heard.

Fans rushed to the comment section to share their excitement at the news.

One wrote: "Real pop culture IS BACK"

"We needed this cultural reset" insisted another, while one hilariously wrote: "I JUST THREW MY PHONE ACROSS THE COFFEE SHOP!"

Another declared the news to be "beyond iconic".

It's not known whether the show will be a Simple Life reboot, or something new.

Paris recently starred in a solo series called Paris In Love, which documented her marriage to Carter Reum and the arrival of her two children.

Nicole has also had two children after marrying Good Charlotte's Joel Madden.

The pair have been friends for many, many years, and Paris also shared a post with a collage of sweet pics of them.

Fans have been calling for The Simple Life to be brought back to our screens for a long time.

Paris previously told Chris Evans about her memoir and life: “It was just a whole path of self discovery. Ever since my documentary, This is Paris, I've really just been on this path. I just felt that it was time just to tell my true story since the media has written my narrative for the past two decades, and it wasn't really who I was.”

Fans will be getting to see even more of the star with this forthcoming series.
