House of the Dragon has released its final, fiery season two trailer.
Ahead of the much-loved Game of Thrones prequel show’s return to TV screens this June, Sky Atlantic (and Max in the US) released the two minute long teaser on Tuesday, 14th May.
As its synopsis teases, the trailer (which you can watch below) shows Westeros “on the brink of a bloody civil war with the Green and Black Councils fighting for King Aegon and Queen Rhaenyra, respectively.”

Following on from last month’s two trailers which told both the Green and Black stories separately and urged audiences to pick a side, this latest trailer warns that the Targaryen civil war may bring destruction to all and end with no eventual winner.
While Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) cries for “revenge”, it is stressed by Matt Smith’s Daemon that “the realm’s only hope is in a leader strong enough to unite it.” Meanwhile, Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke) also appears to push back against the war, making herself a target.
Speaking in a recently released behind the scenes look at series two of the show, Queen Alicent actress Olivia Cooke admitted feeling quite a lot of pressure returning to the series after the first season’s phenomenal success in 2022.
“It feels like there’s a lot of pressure to be back for season two,” Cooke said. Rhaenyra star Emma D’Arcy added: “Yeah, it is nerve wrecking. But very quickly, there’s a deep familiarity, right? Like we’ve never been away.”
Lady Baela star Bethany Antonia teased that season two: “Is so much bigger this year. It’s times ten.” Aegon II star Tom Glynn-Carney added: “There are experts in every corner of the room, and we’re all working as a team to make something pretty spectacular.”
Alongside all the returning cast for season two, many actors are also joining the franchise to play new characters, including: Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong, Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne.
House of the Dragon season two will begin airing on Sky Atlantic and NOW on Sunday, 16th June.
