Fans of Disney's Moana are beyond excited after a sneak peek of Moana 2 has been revealed, and a much-loved character is finally getting the screen time they deserve.

A previous complaint about the first film is that Moana's sidekick pig Pua did not appear much in the film, despite being seen in all of the posters and trailers, with Hei Hei the rooster coming along for the ride instead.

The new teaser trailer makes a knowing nod to this, with Maui asking Moana "why didn't you bring the pig along last time?"

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will return as hilarious demi-god Maui, with many fans of the film thrilled that the much-loved character is returning.

Auli'i Cravalho is also back as the lead title character, who sets sail as a voyager to help her people.

The Rock also appeared at CinemaCon and delighted fans by dancing onstage with the Polynesian dance troupe Nonosina.

The Rock also told The Hollywood Reporter: 'Playing the character of Maui is one of the most life-changing life experiences for me and life changing roles,'

We'll have to wait until November to watch it, with a release date of the 27th pencilled in to maximise the Thanksgiving market in the US.

Fans have been praising the return of Pua the sidekick pig too:

"I really like how they acknowledged that Pua was left out of the first movie" wrote one fan, with another agreeing: "They listened to fans and gave Pua more attention. You got me, Disney, you got me."

"I'm with Maui, 'why didn't you bring the pig last time?' GO PUA!" said one fan excitedly.
