A journalist has reported that a fourth film in the franchise is under development at Universal, one that will see both Fraser and Weisz onscreen together once more.

The film series was originally a trilogy, ending in 2008 with The Mummy - Tomb Of The Dragon Emporer.

Rachel did not star on the last film, a reports claim she was unhappy with the script.

World Of Reel claims both Weisz and Fraser have agreed to the project. It has not been reported whether Dwayne Johnson will also return.

The Mummy –Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor raked in $400m, so demand could still be there.

There have also been rumours of the film series getting a reboot with new younger stars reprising the roles, with Fraser and Weisz as supporting characters.

The film was originally released in 1999, and still has an audience score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It has been having something of a renaissance thanks to TikTok, with fans sharing clips from the film and admiring the cast.
