From Thor to Autobots: Hemsworth set to join iconic franchises in explosive new crossover.

Our favourite Aussie superhero, Chris Hemsworth, is in talks to join yet another blockbuster franchise.

After wielding Mjolnir as Marvel's Thor and causing chaos as the villainous Dementus in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Hemsworth is now eyeing a starring role in the highly anticipated Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie from Paramount.

The buzz around this crossover has been building ever since the tantalising tease in last year's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

If you stuck around till the end (and let's be real, who didn’t?), you witnessed Anthony Ramos' character, Noah, having a clandestine chat with a shady government operative named Agent Burke, portrayed by House of Cards star Michael Kelly.

Burke's business card revealed that he’s part of the G.I. Joes, setting the stage for an epic union of these two beloved '80s franchises.

It's like Christmas came early for fans of giant robots and elite commandos!

"Noah goes from somebody who cannot get a job, to a guy who gets the greatest job ever. It really felt organic to put it in here because you could relate it to the story," producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told Variety at the Rise of the Beasts premiere.

He added: "It didn’t feel like we were being cynical and like, ‘Good news, we could just jam G.I. Joes in here.’ The fans want a lot of things; if we do it and we don’t figure it out well, they’re going to be disappointed.

"It took us a while to figure out the Maximals, and now we have the hint of how to begin the Joes story."

Imagine Hemsworth trading his Asgardian armour for G.I. Joe camo, or maybe even taking on a Transformer or two.

Whether he’s joining the ranks of the Joes or teaming up with the Autobots, the possibilities are endless and absolutely thrilling.

This move would not only bring Hemsworth’s star power to the franchise but also ensure some serious action-packed sequences that will have fans at the edge of their seats.

We can already picture Hemsworth battling Decepticons with one hand and fighting Cobra Command with the other. Talk about a crossover event of epic proportions!

But wait, there's more! This wouldn't be Hemsworth's first tango with the Transformers universe.

He’s already set to voice a young Optimus Prime, back when the heroic leader of the Autobots was just known as Orion Pax, in the upcoming animated movie Transformers One.

Set to hit theatres on September 20, this prequel will explore the early days of our favourite robotic hero.

Hemsworth as a young Optimus Prime? We’re definitely more than meets the eye with excitement!

The Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover will mark the first time these two iconic brands share the big screen, though they have crossed paths before in the Marvel comics.

This film promises to deliver the kind of explosive action and larger-than-life battles that fans have come to love from both franchises. Autobots and Joes, roll out!

Transformers One is set to for release in theatres on 20th September 2024.
