Bridgerton season 3 part 2 trailer is finally here - will Colin learn of Penelope’s secret identity?

All is not what it seems for Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton as fans get their first taste of Bridgerton season three part two. 

(Bridgerton series three part one spoilers ahead!)

Netflix has treated fans to the very first look at the second half of Bridgerton season three, and it seems the news of Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin’s (Luke Newton) new engagement has left The ‘Ton speechless. 

“Who needs fresh air when there is fresh gossip?,” Lady Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) says in the brand new trailer, which the streaming service dropped today (3rd June).

Bridgerton shocked fans with the sudden, steamy romance between ‘Polin’ (set to a rather surprising Pitbull track) in the final moments of part one, with Colin not only confessing his feelings for Penelope, but also asking for her hand in marriage. 

Now that the entire ‘Ton knows of the impending nuptials, it seems not everyone is thrilled with the new couple, with Pen’s former friend and Bridgerton sister Eloise (Claudia Jessie) desperate for Penelope to be honest with her new fiancee about her secret identity as Lady Whistledown. 

“Until he knows the real you, he cannot possibly love you,” Eloise implores in the brand new trailer, before Penelope begs: “Colin cannot discover my secret. Whistledown is power.”

Colin himself is already suspicious that Penelope isn’t being as truthful as she lets on, after spotting ink on her hands, which she puts down to letter-writing. 

Threatening to expose her, Eloise adds: “If it’s too difficult to reveal the truth, I will reveal it to him myself.”

Meanwhile, desperate to revive her status in society, Penelope’s mother Portia Featherington (Polly Walker) kickstarts her mission to ensure her daughter marries into the Bridgerton family, telling Pen: “Your duty is to cater to Mr Bridgerton’s dreams. 

“Ladies do not have dreams, they have husbands,” she adds. 

Fans rushed to Netflix’s social media pages to share their love - and mild anxiety - over the upcoming series. 

“I will not survive this. I barely made it out of this trailer alive,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), while another added: “I AM SO ANXIOUS.”

Netflix have also unveiled the new episode titles, giving even bigger clues to the drama yet to come. 

While it’s yet to be seen if Polin make it down the aisle, the penultimate episode is titled ‘Joining of Hands’, while the finale will be called ‘Into the Light’ indicating some truth could potentially make it out of the shadows. 

Bridgerton season three part two arrives on Netflix on 13th June.
