The beak is back! Wallace and Gromit fans remain in shock after Aardman studios revealed the pair’s next feature film would star an old enemy.

Feathers McGraw - an evil penguin last seen in 1993’s Wallace and Gromit short The Wrong Trousers - will make his return in a Christmas full-length feature film entitled Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl.

While Feathers’ return came as a complete shock yesterday (6th June), some eagle eyed fans have since pointed out that the penguin’s cameo appearance in Aardman’s recent feature, Chicken Run 2: Dawn of the Nugget, might have been a warning that the star had successfully escaped prison.

“We were warned,” shared X (formerly Twitter) user @JoelOnMain alongside a photo showing Feathers in the recent Chicken Run film.

Despite his dastardly deeds, Feathers has many fans across the globe who were very excited to read yesterday’s news about Vengeance Most Fowl.

Over on Aardman’s Instagram announcement, one person commented: “I can already tell this film is going to be a masterpiece.” Another shared: “One of cinema’s greatest villains!” while a third said: “I got Feathers McGraw tattooed on me!!! This is going to be an epic film!”

Some individuals were rightly more nervous about Feathers’ return to the screen after 30 years in the slammer. “I'm 35 years old and I still do not like looking directly at him. Genuinely my worst nightmare,” one person bravely penned.

“I’m sorry, why are we giving Feathers McGraw a platform at this point,” another social media user questioned. “His evil chicken a** should have been cancelled years ago.”

The full synopsis for Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl reads as follows: “Vengeance Most Fowl sees Gromit’s growing concern as Wallace becomes over-dependent on his inventions - which proves justified when Wallace invents a ‘smart gnome’ that seems to develop an evil mind of its own.

“But who or what could be the cause? As events begin to spiral out of control, it’s up to Gromit to put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces, or Wallace may never be able to invent again!”

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl will premiere on the BBC this Christmas. Wallace and Gromit’s previous adventures can be enjoyed on BBC iPlayer.
