The trailer for the massively-anticipated Paddington in Peru has landed, giving fans a glimpse at what they can expect from the marmalade enthusiast’s next adventure.

The third film in the series sees the protagonist head back to Peru to visit his Aunt Lucy in a home for retired bears, and the Browns are along for the ride.

The film will see This is Going to Hurt’s Ben Whishaw reprise his voice role as Paddington, while Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville, Mamma Mia and Educating Rita’s Julie Walters will be back, as will Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin.

One notable absence from the Brown family, however, is Sally Hawkins, who will be replaced by Emily Mortimer, after scheduling conflicts prevented the former from returning to the role.

The trailer shows Paddington getting his passport photos done as the gang head to Peru, where they come across Olivia Colman’s nun.

The new clip was shared today on X, with the official Paddington page saying: “Mr. Brown told me to pack an extra marmalade sandwich for this particular adventure. #PaddingtonInPeru”

Paddington in Peru is the first film in the franchise not to be directed by Paul King. Whilst the filmmaker has still collaborated on the story with Ghosts star Simon Farnaby and fellow writer Mark Burton, music video and former John Lewis advert director Dougal Wilson is at its helm this time.

Along with Olivia Colman, joining the cast for the new instalment will be Antonio Banderas.

Paddington in Peru will be in cinemas 8th November 2024.
