Sir Richard Branson can add wedding officiator to his already illustrious CV after helping one Virgin Atlantic couple tie the knot.

The business magnate stepped in for an Elvis impersonator at the wedding of Malcolm and Jacqui King-McKinnon, who said 'I Do' at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas.

Not only do both Malcolm and Jacqui work for Virgin Atlantic, they also met during one of very first flights back in 1984.

In true Virgin style, founder Branson donned a sparkling red blazer as the couples said their vows, and then sent them off in a Virgin Hotels cab to the iconic Tunnel of Love.

Speaking about the historic wedding, Sir Richard said: "Our incredible people are what makes Virgin Atlantic so special – they are mavericks, trailblazers, they are kind and fun.

“Getting to celebrate two of those people who have been with us since day one was an honour. Malcolm and Jacqui's love story started at Virgin Atlantic, which makes them part of the family.”

Groom Malcolm added: “They call it love at first sight but for us it was love at first flight! Today has been incredible and it means so much to Jacqui, our daughters and myself.”

Sir Richard stopped by Virgin Radio recently to chat about his new audio book - Losing and Finding My Virginity - and discussed how his purchase of Necker Island helped secure his own marriage to wife Joan.

The entrepreneur has lived a particularly plentiful life after the start of his Virgin Records and Virgin Megastores, and in 1978, he purchased Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands.

After Ryan got curious about Necker Island, Richard explained why he decided to purchase the now-luxury escape. He shared: “Necker Island is a little island that I discovered when I was 28. When I was trying to woo [wife] Joan to come and live with me. It had nothing on it. One palm tree and that was it.

“I thought I could impress her by trying to get the island as our home for the future and somehow managed to get it for the price for semi-detached in England, and we've created the most wonderful escape place there."

He continued: “Over the years, lots of wonderful organisations have come from it and we pulled together wonderful people there to try to sort out some of the problems.”
