Weeks after the Britain's Got Talent final, Korean martial arts star Chanwoo Jeong is still in hospital after a frightening injury during this year's showdown —  and is learning how to walk again.

The talented SSaulabi Performance Troupe member was rushed to hospital last month after the 2024 Britain’s Got Talent’s finale — which crowned vocalist Sydnie Christmas the winner — due to a disastrous crash mid-air between two performers.

Two members of the Korean martial arts group — who were Ant and Dec's Golden Buzzer act — collided in mid-air.

Chanwoo Jeong posted on Instagram from the bed at St Mary's Hospital, London, with his legs in bandages and using a frame to walk alongside a medical professional.

Last week, he shared the emotional news: "I never imagined that I would actually get hurt while doing the obstacle course, but I think I got hurt unintentionally as my already severe fatigue accumulated so much.

"On the one hand, I'm so sorry, and on the other hand, I'm grateful. And I'm grateful to my professors, coaches, classmates, and juniors for helping and worrying about me. It's true that I was hurt badly, but I'll hold on!"

A spokesperson for the ITV show said of the accident: "During (the) live final, a member of Ssaulabi Performance Troupe was injured.

"He was quickly seen by our onsite medical team before going to hospital for further treatment. All at BGT wish him a speedy recovery."

The performer has since shared a gruesome photograph of his injury from his hospital bed, with his leg now encased in pins.

He poignantly captioned the photo with a simple 'sigh,' hinting at a long recovery ahead and possibly an extended hiatus from performing.

One TV viewer noted during the shock collision: "Did one of the performers just break their foot? Looked serious #bgtfinal."

Another added: "This is ever so cool but did I just see mateyboi break his foot and crawl off? That's gotta hurt #bgtfinal."

A third penned: "These martial arts peeps should win tbf I've not seen half these people before and this is actual talent... Plus one has literally crawled off stage and probably broken his foot in the process so fair play #BGT."

Get well soon, Chanwoo.
