The eldest Jonas Brothers star, Kevin Jonas, has revealed a skin cancer diagnosis and news that he has undergone surgery to remove the carcinogenic spot from his face.
The singer told fans on social media about the concerning diagnosis in a candid video. He shared: “Yes, that is an actual little skin cancer guy that has started to grow. And now I have to get surgery to remove it, so here we go.”
A bandaged post-surgery Kevin then reassures followers after the operation: “Alright, I’m all done. Now it’s time to heal. Heading home. Make sure to get those moles checked people.”

The American Cancer Society commented: "Thanks for sharing your story, Kevin! Glad you got it checked in time, that’s why it’s very important to #getscreened early."
The Skin Cancer Foundation agreed: "So sorry to hear about your BCC, Kevin. Thank you for raising awareness. Early detection is key. Wishing you the best on your recovery journey."
Stand Up To Cancer praised: "Thank you so much for sharing and for helping spread awareness, Kevin! Wishing you a speedy recovery."
The band, including brothers Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas, are set to resume their Five Albums, One Night tour in August kicking off the European leg featuring shows in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, Amsterdam, Dublin, Belfast, Paris and more.
The tour was postponed in May due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts”. Tickets are on sale now.
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, a basal cell carcinoma is 'the most common form of skin cancer and is the most frequently occurring form of all cancers'.
Last month, dermatology specialist Dr Ellie Rashid visited Virgin Radio to tell us how to best prevent and detect skin cancer.
Joining the Chris Evans Breakfast Show with webuyanycar, the doctor said: “The key message is, prevention and early detection is so important. Your prognosis is completely different if you catch a skin cancer early, compared to if you were to catch it later on.”
Wishing Kevin a speedy recovery.
