The Bear actor Ebon Moss-Bachrach has asked fans to stop calling out to him while out and about.

He stars as “Cousin” Richie in the much-loved FX series, with his character often being called by his nickname.

While the show’s major success is something Ebon is no doubt thrilled by, a slight drawback of international fame means that people from across the globe will know who you are and, perhaps worse, know what you often get called on your award-winning show.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Ebon discussed how The Bear has become a worldwide phenomenon, admitting: “I was on top of a little mountain outside Kyoto and a Korean couple came up to me and were saying how much they love the show.”

However, what the Andor star usually finds is that people will yell out “Cousin” while he’s out of character, something which can get exhausting.

He explained: “I get a lot of comments. People yell ‘Cousin!’ at me all day. Sometimes, you know, you’re just not having a great day. And it’s just like: 'I’m sorry, man, I don’t have much for you'.”

Ebon and his cast are in the midst of a press tour for the highly anticipated third season of The Bear, which returns here in the UK on Thursday 27th June. All 10 episodes will be available to binge watch.

The first two seasons followed professional chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), who inherited his late brother’s sandwich restaurant. After much drama, stress, tension, personal struggles and building issues, the end of season two saw him reinvent and relaunch the restaurant - named The Bear - with his colleague/friend Sydney (played by Ayo Edebiri) and Richie (Moss-Bachrach).

As per the official synopsis, the new season will see the trio “do what it takes to elevate” the “beef stand turned fine-dining establishment to the highest level, all while doing their best just to stay in business.”

The description continues: “It’s a losing battle every single day in the restaurant business. Carmy pushes himself harder than ever and demands excellence from his crew, who do their best to match his intensity.

"Their quest for culinary excellence will propel the crew to new levels and stress the bonds that hold the restaurant together. As the team grows in size, each member will strive to reach a greater level of service within their role. In the restaurant industry, you’re never on solid ground, and with that ever-changing landscape comes new challenges and opportunities.

"Our chefs have learned that every second counts, but this season we’ll find out if they have what it takes to make it to tomorrow.”

Season three of The Bear stream on Disney+ in the UK from Thursday, 27th June.
