The former Oasis legend is gearing up for knee surgery, joining his brother Liam in the arthritis battle. Will there be a reunion amidst the pain?

Noel Gallagher, is set to undergo knee surgery after being hit by the dreaded arthritis. The Oasis songwriter is preparing to tackle his knee woes later this year.

It also seems the Gallagher brothers are sharing more than just a rocky history; they’re sharing medical procedures too!

Noel’s been having a tough time with his joints, according to reports on Friday, and he’s planning to go under the knife before the year is out.

A life lived to the full as a Rock and Roll Star is potentially catching up with the pair.

As it appears, arthritis runs in the family, with younger brother Liam Gallagher, having already had a hip operation in April for the same condition.

Speaking to The Sun, a source close to Noel revealed: "Noel isn't happy at all about the fact he needs this knee surgery.

"It's a sign he's getting on, and he isn't very good at being laid up — unless there is football on the telly.

"Liam had to have his hips done after struggling and now Noel is going down the same path."

Liam, the younger Gallagher, had to undergo his own major hip operation earlier this year, April, and spent his recovery time with a bit of nostalgia, reportedly watching old music videos.

The same source had a cheeky prediction: "Noel expects his younger brother to get a laugh out of him needing surgery for the same condition."

You can bet there’ll be some banter exchanged over this one. After all, the Gallaghers are nothing if not competitive.

Noel’s not letting this slow him down just yet. He’s set to continue gigging with his band, The High Flying Birds, over the summer.

He’ll take a break in August to enjoy a holiday before the big operation. Noel admitted on his friend Matt Morgans’s podcast: "I've got bad knees actually. I've got to have an operation on my f***ing knee." Straight to the point, as always.

Liam, meanwhile, has been pretty vocal about his own surgery, dispelling rumours of an Oasis reunion, at least for now.

Last year, he revealed he needed his hip joints replaced due to arthritis from a longstanding thyroid issue.

He took to social media to update fans post-surgery, writing: "Morning Rastas so I had my Hip operation last wk [week] all went well and RESPEK [respect] to all the doctors n nurses who looked after me Big shout out to the A team for getting us home safe n sound."

One fan cheekily asked if the operation had affected his famous swagger, to which Liam replied: "I'm getting my physio to study old videos of my walk so we don't miss a trick the comeback is real."

The Gallagher brothers have had a well-documented public feud since Oasis split at their final concert in Paris in 2009 after a backstage bust-up.

The bad blood hasn’t stopped fans from hoping for a reunion, especially since their mother, Peggy, reportedly urged them to mend their rift so she could enjoy her 80th birthday with both her sons.

An insider told The Sun: "In recent years there has been distance within the family, especially with Liam and Noel at war. Peggy has told Liam to mend the rift, and she is hoping there will be genuine reconciliation.

"Peggy was in a reflective mood and it would be the best birthday present if they'd finally make some steps towards patching up their feud."

So, while Noel preps for his knee surgery and Liam recovers from his hip operation, fans are left wondering if these shared ailments might bring the brothers back together.

Here’s hoping for a peaceful resolution – and a lot less pain – for the Gallaghers!
