Hannah Waddingham stuns F1 viewers with ‘incredible’ and ‘awesome’ rendition of National Anthem

Hannah Waddingham wowed fans with her performance of the National Anthem at the British Grand Prix.

The Ted Lasso star took to the stage at Silverstone at the event on Sunday (7th July) to sing God Save the King.

Surrounded by the King’s Guard, and dressed all in while, the actor and singer belted out the song as the Red Arrows flew overhead, leaving a trailer of red, white and blue.

The anthem was experienced by a huge Silverstone crowd and TV viewers around the world, and it’s safe to say that they were impressed by what they saw.

Many people took to social media to share their thoughts, with one writing: “Wow Hannah Waddingham can do it all ❤️.”

Another said: “Wow! Incredible voice!”

One football fan suggested that she should perform before England’s big Euro 2024 match against Netherlands on Wednesday (10th July). They wrote: “@hanwaddingham can you get over to Germany for the Semi final!? That will definitely get the @England boys raring for the match!”

A viewer wrote: “Absolutely awesome performance.”

Someone else wrote: “Hannah Waddingham absolutely knocked this out of the park. She needs to be in charge of everything.”

And the actor - who played Rebecca Welton in Ted Lasso -  wasn’t the only star of the Apple TV+ hit at the Grand Prix. Her co-star Toheeb Jimoh was also there. Jimoh, who played her of-off love, told The Independent: “I’m here to support a very special lady singing. Hannah is singing the national anthem with her very lovely voice. It is going to be monumental.”

Also at Silverstone on Sunday were Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt and his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon. Pitt has been filming a new movie, called F1, which is co-produced by seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

The film, which is due to be released in the summer of 2025, shared its first trailer yesterday. Along with Pitt, F1 also stars Damson Idris, Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies andJavier Bardem.

The race was won by British racing superstar Hamilton.
