A Good Morning Britain star has thrown their hat into the ring for Strictly Come Dancing 2024.

Speaking with hosts Ed Ball and Susanna Reid on this morning (10th July)’s edition of the breakfast show, showbiz presenter and former A Place In The Sun host Scarlette Douglas hinted at how she’d love to take to the dancefloor this year.

Chatting about former secretary of state for culture, media and sport Nadine Dorries’ potential future plans, Douglas shared: “She's previously said she'd love to do Strictly and you know what, I'm going to be honest, so would I.

“So if you are listening out there, Strictly team, my dancing shoes are packed and I'm ready to make it all the way to Blackpool!” she joked.

Supporting her colleague, Susanna Reid replied: “Aljaž [Škorjanec] needs a partner,” referencing the professional dancer’s recently announced return to Strictly for the popular reality show’s 20th anniversary series.

“That would be amazing. I'd absolutely partner with Aljaž,” was Doulgas’ enthusiastic reply.

Having appeared on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in 2022, Douglas is no stranger to the celebrity competition show, and might find the dancing competition a much more welcome challenge to I’m A Celeb’s bushtucker trials.

Whether or not she’s able to convince the dancing show's producers to let her join the show this year remains to be seen, however.

Strictly stars are remaining tight-lipped about who will be competing for the famous Glitterball trophy this autumn, although head judge Shirley Ballas has teased fans have a lot to look forward to.

Speaking with at the TRIC awards last month, the professional dancer and author teased: “I think you're going to be surprised at some of the people that they've managed to get on this show.”

She also shared: “I believe it’s going to be the most fantastic [celebrity] line-up ever,” after revealing that series 22’s “phenomenal” casting was “almost” done.
