The UK is 'ready to fall back in love with love' according to new Netflix show Love Is Blind hosted by Emma Willis and Matt Willis. The release date for the upcoming matchmaking series has been revealed – and it's on its way very soon.

The first four episodes will land on TV screens on August 7, followed by the next five instalments a week later on August 14, then the grand finale and reunion episode on August 21, filmed in Britain, Corfu and Sweden.

The social experiment, presented by The Voice's Emma Willis and her Busted husband Matt Willis, will focus on a group of British singletons who will date in pods without seeing their prospective partners and get engaged before meeting in person.

The official synopsis for Love Is Blind UK reads: "Can you really fall for someone, without ever setting eyes on them? Emma and Matt Willis host a social experiment where British singles look for love and get engaged, all before meeting in person. But who will make it down the aisle?"

The US version of Love Is Blind launched on Netflix in February 2020 and has gone onto produce six seasons with spin-offs in Brazil, Germany, Japan, Sweden, Argentina, Mexico and the UAE.

Emma told The Sun earlier this year about co-hosting with her husband for the first time in 15 years: “I can’t talk too much about it, but I think it’s going to be great. I’m a bit like, ‘We don’t need to practise’. And Matt’s like, ‘Yes we do’.

“I guess we’ll see. If it goes badly on the first day maybe we’ll go home and practise then.

“We haven’t done side-by-side since Get Me Out Of Here! Now!, which was in 2008.”

Emma said of her new role as Cupid: "I love to play matchmaker with my friends and love LOVE so I am excited to be co-hosting the first ever UK version of Love Is Blind."

Matt added: "It's been such a dream working together and fascinating to watch the process unfold. Experiencing this new project side by side has been really amazing and I can't wait for people to come on this journey with us."

Love Is Blind UK arrives on Netflix on August 7.
