It's one of the most hotly anticipated shows of the year, and James May has revealed he was "quietly confident" that he, Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson's new venture would be a success.
The Grand Tour
has been aired for the first time on Amazon Prime, to rave reviews.
In an interview with Paul Ross and Jon Holmes on our sister station talkRADIO, May revealed he wasn't too worried about the show's reception, despite the weight of expectation, because of the fans the trio had gained in their time on Top Gear.
He said: "A part of me is always nervous about making TV because I don't want to make a mess of it.
"But I was always quietly confident that we would be okay. We already knew there was a certain number of people who liked us.
"The odds were good."
