George Harrison played the guitar at the band's last ever appearance at The Cavern Club in 1963
The guitar, an Australian-made Maton Mastersound MS-500 is to be auctioned off in Wiltshire next month. It's expected to fetch a whopping £300,000 - £400,000.
The guitar was played throughout the summer of 1963 whilst George Harrison's regular guitar underwent repairs. It was also used in the studio during the recording of ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ and ‘This Boy’ in October 1963. It was later bought Roy Barber, by a guitarist with Dave Berry And The Cruisers, who you may know from their 1960's hit ‘The Crying Game’.
In year 2000, after Barber’s death, the guitar was on display at The Beatles Story museum in Liverpool, before being sold in NYC at auction for £373,000 in 2015.
