Here are some of the best live-stream gigs coming up this year

Missing live music? Us too, but to tide you over, here are some of the best live-streams coming up this year.

This isn't just any old live-stream, The Libertines have lined up two hours of music, comedy, poetry and more. It's taking place at the Albion Rooms hotel in Margate and each band member will perform, with comedy from the likes of Matt Forde. Fans are also welcome to get involved and submit work too. 9pm,

Another artist raising the bar is Dua Lipa. The pop superstar is calling this "Studio 2054" and it promises to be a "multidimensional live experience". She'll be performing tracks from Future Nostalgia as well as her debut album and will “move through custom-built sets, surreal TV shows, roller discos, ecstatic raves, trashy rocker hangouts, voguing ballrooms and diva style dressing rooms”. FKA Twigs is also making an appearance. 

Live from Brixton Academy in association with MelodyVR, the Leeds band are bringing their hugely popular show from the 'Duck' album arena tour to your screen. Download the app to watch and interact, and choose which camera angle you want to view from too. Ricky Wilson has promised there are plenty of tricks and fun things to keep you entertained. They might even do a rendition of their lockdown reworkings of some of their most famous tunes.

  The legendary band are due to be honoured by the Museum of Pop Culture. This incredible event will feature performances by Metallica, Billy Corgan, Duff McKagan, and more. Eddie Vedder, Tom Morello, Robert Downey Jr. and others are also set for special appearances. It'll be on the museum's Facebook pageAmazon Music's Twitch channel, and the Amazon Music app.

Blossoms, December 3rd

The MelodyVR app is a must-have for many of these brilliant livestream shows that are on the horizon, bands aren't just content to perform acoustically from their bathroom anymore. The Stockport indie lads will be playing plenty of their hits during this interactive performance from Brixton Academy. It's their first appearance at the iconic London venue since 2018, when they won legions of new fans with their

Evanescence, December 5th 

One for the goths, you can't go wrong with some Evanescence drama. The 'Bring Me To Life' rockers will be performing a set of their greatest hits, during

'Evanescence: A Live Session From Rock Falcon Studio'

. They had to postpone a huge 2020 tour thanks to the pandemic, and will be performing songs from their upcoming new album

The Bitter Truth

for the first time too. 9pm,

Liam Gallagher, December 5th

Liam was teasing his fans on Twitter about announcing something big for a while, and he didn't disappoint. Of course the Oasis singer wouldn't do things by halves, and he's shunned traditional venues in favour of performing on a boat sailing down the Thames. You can watch 'Down By The River Thames' through the MelodyVR app again, and this full band set will include iconic songs, fan favourites and a few surprises.


Lindsey Buckingham, December 5th

The former Fleetwood Mac star will be livestreaming a performance titled “At Home With Lindsey Buckingham.” There's a Q&A plus sets from his impressive back catalogue.


Goo Goo Dolls - Dec 12th

You can't go wrong with some festive tunes, and not only have Goo Goo Dolls released a Christmas album called

'It's Christmas All Over'

but they're also performing an 'augmented reality Christmas musical'. More details are to be announced in the coming weekend. 

Gorillaz - Dec 13th

A livestream is perfect when most of your band are virtual, and this very special show is sure to be one to remember. A global live stream, with 3 performances across 3 different time zones, playing songs from their latest album

Nordoff Robbins Christmas Carol Service - Dec 15th This is a carol service with a difference, held in aid of the Nordoff Robbins music therapy charity. Hosted by Nile Rodgers, the likes of Sir Cliff Richard and Ricky Wilson from the Kaiser Chiefs will be performing. Florence Welch, Roger Daltrey and Sheku Kanneh-Mason will also make an appearance.
