Unlike the words of Julia Roberts, hopefully this won't be 'a big mistake... HUGE'. Because the iconic story is coming back to the UK as a stage musical after a short but sweet stint pre lockdown.
The classic Hollywood love story starring Richard Gere as mega-rich businessman Edward Lewis who - via a few humps, bumps and romps - happens to fall for sex worker, Julia Roberts' character Vivian Ward.
Don't be alarmed. It's a hit in the US and is set to follow the path of the movie with original screenwriter J.F. Lawton and director Garry Marshall on board - so there'll be lots of nods to the 1990's blockbuster.
Direction and choreography will be by Tony Award winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Hairspray) and an original score by Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance ("Summer of '69", "Heaven").
Vivian Ward will be played by Aimie Atkinson (Six In The Heights) and Edward Lewis will be played by Danny Mac (White Christmas, Sunset Boulevard).
You'll be able to take your bobbed wig off and let your hair down from May 17th at London's Piccadilly Theatre with tickets starting from £17.99.
The Pretty Woman social media page wrote recently: "A whole year since our official opening night. We had no idea what would happen to the West End just two weeks later. But never fear.
"We’ll see you as SOON as we can."
