Ketchup fans, look away now.

Your beloved sauce is no longer topping the tables for our favourite condiment in the UK, according to a new survey. The top spot now goes to a controversial choice.

Maybe it's lockdown to blame and we're being a bit more adventurous with our food - as the number one sauce is now sriracha.

It's a type of hot sauce made from chilli peppers, distilled vinegar, garlic, sugar, and salt, and many of us think it's the best.

Ketchup, mayo and mustard just can't compete it seems.

The new survey was conducted by Exante, and they broke down the stats city by city too.

It turns out there is a definite north-south divide between how much sriracha is favoured.

Those in the south are fans of the stuff, but ketchup, Worcester sauce and mayo are the favourites for Hull, Bolton and Bradford retrospectively.

Ketchup has been pushed down into second place. In third place is wasabi.

The study searched for which condiments had been looked up the most online.

There were several  condiments which didn’t make the top 10 but they're growing in popularity.

It seems we're all missing the IKEA cafe, as Swedish lingonberry jam scored highly.

When it comes to home cooking, it seems salsa is the one sauce we’re most likely to try to make ourselves, followed by mayonnaise.

The Top 10 Condiments

1) Sriracha 2) Ketchup 3) Wasabi 4) Mayonnaise 5) Chimichurri 6) Worcestershire Sauce 7) Piri Piri 8) Brown Sauce 9) Harissa 10) Sour Cream
