Adrian Dunbar otherwise known as Superintendent Ted Hastings will be fronting the BBC panel show next month for the first time. The actor will lead the laughs on the second episode of the new series on April 16.

The RadioTimes.com revealed the news about Adrian's new gig, while he will be joined by comedian Katherine Ryan and Political Editor of The Sunday Times newspaper Tim Shipman alongside team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton.

Talking about his new level of fame - and lust - since being in the crime drama, he said: "I was blindsided by that. I thought there would be a lot of things that would come off the back of this part but definitely not being a sex symbol.

“Maybe it has to do with the fact Ted’s out there; there he is in his uniform, he has all this moral authority – and I think sometimes women like a challenge.”

Of his performer wife, Anna Nygh, he shared: “She was an actress herself so she realises it comes with the territory… she thinks it’s quite humorous, she gets a laugh out of it.”

He said about his former acting advice: “When I was at drama school some of the teachers, who were very wise, said to me, ‘You’re going to be a great actor in your 50s. Now, you’re not malleable enough. You’re doing one thing well but you need to loosen up a bit.’

“That happens to actors. You learn more about it and hopefully you get better at it as you get older.”

David Tennant will also be hosting the show on April 9 at 9.30pm and Adrian will be on the HIGNFY screen on April 16 at 9pm.
