Lidl's wine-cooling handbags with secret taps are here to improve your picnics

When you’re buying a new handbag, what are the key factors that you look for? Style? Durability? Practicality? Maybe. But what about the ability to keep your wine cool, and to dispense it through a hidden tap? Now that sounds like a bag worth having! 

Impressively, Lidl are launching exactly such a handbag, which holds a whopping 1.5 litres in an insulated liquid compartment. It features a discrete tap dispenser, hidden by a small flap, meaning you can keep your wine at a nice temperature and sneakily pour yourself some without anyone noticing. Perfect for those picnic experiences where you don't want to share!

As well as keeping your booze chilled, they also act as normal, everyday bags, with two internal pockets and a main compartment area, all kept secure with a zip. If that all sounds too good to be true, then the even better news is that they won't set you back a fortune, as they are priced £19.99. The bag comes in either a blue and white striped canvas version with a rope handle, or a black and brown leather-style one. 

If you’re after something a little more robust but still want to keep the option of stashing a bucket-load of cold alcohol, then Lidl are also launching a wine-cooling backpack, which essentially offers similar benefits to the handbag but in backpack form. Perfect to keep those long hikes in the countryside interesting! 

It comes in a black and yellow design, and looks just like a normal backpack, with no clue as to the delicious boozy secrets hidden within! 

So, if you are looking for the ideal bag to transport your wine to all of the picnics and beach days that you’ve got planned, then head along to Lidl from Thursday 3rd June, which is when both handbags and the backpack will be on sale.
