Having your photo taken with a teacher at your high school graduation ceremony might seem like a pretty uncool thing to do, unless that teacher comes from the School of Rock! That’s exactly what happened to some lucky students in Los Angeles recently, when they spotted Jack Black as they were about to take some snaps.

The group approached the actor/singer, who was all too happy to pose with them. Indeed, hardly known for being a shrinking violet, Black threw himself into the situation with his trademark enthusiasm. He took over the direction of the shoot, explaining how best to take a photo so that the sun will look good on his face.

A photographer, who calls himself Visionary Daniel, posted an Instagram video showing how they bumped into him at Griffith Observatory in LA. Unsurprisingly, the clip has gone viral.

Commenters loved the post, with one saying, “@jackblack, you got that sun angle just right.”

Another added, “this is so iconic.”

In another post, the resultant photo from the shoot is captioned, “graduated from the school of rock, crazy how small the world is to see jack black at one of my photo shoots."

Of course, celebrities making surprise appearances in photos is nothing new. For example, Zach Braff famously photobombed some newlyweds a few years ago, It’s unlikely, however, that many stars have embraced the opportunity with the exuberance of Jack Black!

As well as appearing in random students' photos, Black has recently been cast in the movie adaptation of popular video game Borderlands. He makes up part of an A-list ensemble cast which includes Cate Blanchett, Gina Gershon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Edgar Ramirez and Kevin Hart. The film will be directed by Eli Roth.
