Twitter isn't just for entertainment. It's also educational. Cue one man who had his head spun by a box of Tampax. Posting a picture of two different tampons, he inquired why one was labelled 'L' and the other labelled 'R'.
He asked the internet: "What the heck is the difference between a Left and Right tampon??"
With over 120k likes and thousands of retweets and comments, it's fair to say he had users in floods of tears.
One sensible lady pointed out: "It has to do with a woman’s flow and the absorption of the tampon...
"L: Light - beginning of the period or end. R: Regular - not too light not too heavy. S: Super - heavy flow."
Others weren't so helpful.
One person joked: "It depends on what side of your body you lay on when you sleep. L for if you sleep on your left side, R for right. I use S for sport mode because I toss and turn all night."
Another added: "The L and R define which way you turn them to screw the tampon into place."
One woman joked: "L is for when you shed the egg your left ovary releases, R is for when you shed the egg your right ovary releases."
Another chipped in: "They’re for if you’re right handed or left handed, obviously."
While one joker added: "Poor guy didn’t know women have two vaginas."
Thankfully, Tampax themselves answered his query and confirmed: "We’re here to clear this up once and for all! L = Light, R = Regular, S = Super. All about that period flow."
Got it? Period.
