The much-loved television presenter and actor has given a big family update by revealing that he is a grandad, and has been for a few months.

The Chase host told Saga magazine that his eldest child Hayley, had a baby five months ago.

The 61-year-old said: “I am a grandfather! My daughter and her husband Tom have had a baby boy who is coming up for five months old.”

He added: "It's been tricky as during lockdown no one could get to see their grandchildren. Thank God for FaceTime - it has kept people in touch."

The actor, who is currently starring in ITV show The Larkins, proudly said: “I'm going to be a brilliant grandfather because I've got this trick. When the baby grows into a toddler, make sure you spend plenty of time with them, feeding them ice cream and Coca-Cola, and then give them back at just the right time and say to your children, ‘There you are, that's what you were like.’”

Hayley runs a reflexology business in Hertfordshire, and she shared the news of her pregnancy on her instagram account back in February. Posting a picture of a board which read On Maternity Leave, alongside a pair of baby booties and a candle, the 39-year-old wrote: “Being pregnant during this lockdown has been a little tricky at times, so I’ve been spending the last few months frantically trying to learn as much as possible online.”

Hayley, who is Brad’s daughter from his relationship with Debby Parker, seems to be back at work following her maternity leave, as last month she posted a picture of herself in her reflexology studio.

Bradley has another child, Barney, with whom he appeared in the travel series, Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad. Brad and his wife, Donna Derby will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary next year.
