The James Bond actor has revealed Her Majesty has a funny side.
Daniel Craig revealed to The Late Show With Stephen Colbert that the Queen is partial to a joke after she made him laugh during his last visit to the Palace.
When asked by the host what she was like in private, the actor responded: “Very funny.”
He added: “Very funny, wants to crack a joke, and crack a joke about me.
“We were having our photograph taken, and she just went, ‘Oh no, he’s the one that doesn’t smile.’”
Craig was at the Palace because he was being awarded with the Order of Saint Michael. The honour is usually saved for diplomats and spies, but of course, Craig’s long-time character James Bond received the award.
The actor was also acknowledged for “his outstanding contribution to film.”
He also got to meet some other very important members of the royal family that day…the Queen’s corgis!
He shared “I was rolling around on the floor with them most of the time. I mean, they’re just there. I think they have their own footmen.
“And yes, they’re very friendly.”
Who could forget this?
Of course, this isn’t the first time Craig has got to meet the Queen.
Who can forget when they teamed up for that iconic James Bond sketch for the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony in London, which saw ‘Her Majesty’ make a daring entrance into the arena.
The actor has previously spoken about how the Queen even improvised during the sketch and that she was a lot calmer than he was!
Speaking to The Mirror last year, he revealed: “She literally kind of said 'would you like me to pretend to be writing?' And he's like 'yes, that's great, that's great'.
"So she sort of acted a bit. That was all her own stuff. It was amazing.
"She was great - calmer than me. My heart was going 'dum, dum, dum, keep it together, keep it together'."
