Nicolas Cage is keen to play a baddie in a future Batman movie, and we are all for it!

Whilst there has been no official announcement regarding whether there will be a sequel to the current Batman movie, it seems inevitable given its impressive performance at the box office. And Cage has made it clear that he’s dead keen to be involved!

While promoting his new film, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, the actor told reporters at SXSW (via Variety): “We have this new [movie with] Robert Pattinson as The Batman which I’m excited to see. I haven’t seen it yet but I think he would be terrific.”

Suggesting which antagonist he could play in any potential sequel, he said: “The villain that Vincent Price played on the 1960s show, Egghead, I think I want to have a go at Egghead."

He added: “I think I can make him absolutely terrifying.”

In the TV series, Egghead had a pale bald head and white and yellow suit. He reckoned himself to be "the world's smartest criminal," and during the course of his crimes he would crack out some egg-cellent puns. Cage, it seems, wants to put his own spin on the character: “I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros, I’m down for Egghead,” he told reporters.

The current caped crusader film, The Batman, sees Paul Dano as The Riddler, and Colin Farrell playing The Penguin. On the goodies’ side, Robert Pattinson is Bruce Wayne, with Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright is Commissioner Gordon.

Whilst we wait and see whether the Nicolas Cage does indeed get the nod to bring his vision of Egghead to the big screen, we can enjoy him in the role he was born to play… literally! The actor is set to appear as a version of himself in upcoming film, The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent.
